arrivederci

In the morning I leave for Italy.

Not only am I excited to leave my comfort zone and discover a new culture, but I get to see my love after almost three months apart.

To say that I feel lucky is an understatement.  My life feels so full of flavor and love.  I’m constantly amazed at how dreams can turn into realities.

Following my dream of putting this book together hasn’t been easy.  It has been a challenge from the start, and it will be until the very end.  I am aiming to finish my research in Paris by the end of January, and I am going to have to work very hard to get there.

But I continue to find hope and inspiration in the little things that come my way.  More than anything, my family, friends and boyfriend have been a strong backbone through all of it.  And of course, my readers.  Thank you to everyone for the supportive comments through all of this, sometimes all it takes is a new voice to come in to remind me why I came here in the first place.

This trip to Italy is like a gift in between it all.  I can’t believe I get to spend two weeks with the man I love in a country I’ve only begun to explore.  I am excited to leave my comfort zone and dig into new territory, language and food with my favorite partner in crime.

I will do my best to feed you bites of my travels as I go along, but for now, arrivederci! The next adventure awaits.
